An Unforgettable Adventure Begins at Epic Universe in 2025!

Nov 21, 2024

Exciting news for theme park enthusiasts: Universal Orlando Resort is expanding with the groundbreaking new park, Epic Universe, set to open on May 22, 2025. This highly anticipated park offers immersive worlds based on beloved franchises like Harry Potter, Nintendo, How to Train Your Dragon, and Universal Monsters, delivering experiences that are both epic and unforgettable. Unique to Epic Universe, guests must purchase a multi-day ticket to explore its many wonders, including access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure on other days. Here’s what you need to know before planning your journey to Universal’s biggest park yet!

The New Multi-Day Ticket System

Epic Universe offers a distinctive ticket structure, requiring visitors to buy a multi-day ticket for access. This includes:

  • 3-Day Ticket: Two days to explore Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, plus one dedicated day at Epic Universe.
  • 4-Day Ticket: Three days across Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, plus one day for Epic Universe.
  • 5-Day Ticket: Four days at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, with one day reserved for Epic Universe.

At this time, park-hopping to or from Epic Universe is not available, making the visit a one-day immersive experience within each section. Annual Passholders, however, may have the option of single-day tickets to Epic Universe.

The Wheel-and-Spoke Design

Epic Universe adopts a “wheel-and-spoke” layout, inspired by Disneyland’s original design, with all attractions radiating out from a central hub called Celestial Park. This layout not only maximizes each world’s immersion but also makes it easy for guests to fully experience each individual realm.

Begin Your Journey at Celestial Park

Celestial Park, the gateway to Epic Universe, sets the stage for the incredible journey. At the park’s entrance, The Chronos greets visitors as a mysterious device unlocking portals to magical realms. Here, the Celestians—inhabitants of this cosmic world—use The Chronos’s powers to create paths to different universes, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World.

For thrill-seekers, Celestial Park offers the Stardust Racers, a high-speed dueling coaster that promises an epic race. Families can enjoy the Constellation Carousel or splash around in Astronomica, an interactive play area that makes for a refreshing retreat.

By evening, the park transforms in an enchanting dusk ceremony where Apollo, the sun god, and Luna, the moon goddess, trade places, casting the park in a spectacular orchestral display of lights and sounds. Celestial Park is not only a thoroughfare but an attraction of its own, complete with 26 unique gardens, each themed to highlight a different cosmic wonder. Dining here is equally stellar, with options like the Atlantic and The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant, offering diverse and mouthwatering dishes.

Discover the Ministry of Magic in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Building on the success of existing Harry Potter lands at Universal, the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Epic Universe brings the Ministry of Magic to life. Inspired by the magical underworld of 1920s Paris from Fantastic Beasts, this immersive area lets guests step into iconic locations like the British Ministry of Magic and the circus from The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Attractions include Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, an adrenaline-fueled experience where visitors navigate the Ministry while magical chaos unfolds. Le Cirque Arcanus, a live performance inspired by the wizarding circus, features acrobatics, puppetry, and even mythical creatures for an unforgettable spectacle. Guests can also enjoy interactions with Ministry officials, Hogwarts students, and enchanted portraits of wizards.

For added immersion, grab an interactive wand to cast spells around Place Cachée—the wizarding streets—where magical creatures like Nifflers and Bowtruckles await, and enchanted shop windows respond to spells. Dining in this area captures the magic as well, with options like Café l’Air de la Sirène and Le Gobelet Noir, where you can enjoy specialty drinks like butterbeer and wizard-inspired dishes.

Level Up in Super Nintendo World

Gaming fans will recognize the vibrant lands of Super Nintendo World, bringing characters like Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to life. This land offers a blend of interactive experiences and attractions based on Nintendo’s most popular franchises, featuring iconic green warp pipes and interactive gameplay.

Among the highlights is Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, a VR ride that takes guests on an action-packed race through the Mushroom Kingdom, with stunning visuals and familiar characters around every corner. Mine-Cart Madness features Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in a jungle-themed race to protect the coveted golden banana. Meanwhile, Yoshi’s Adventure invites younger guests on a gentle journey through the Mushroom Kingdom, seeking hidden eggs alongside Captain Toad.

In addition to the rides, interactive Power-Up Bands bring the game to life for guests, enabling them to take part in challenges like Goomba Crazy Crank and Koopa Troopa POWer Punch. Meet-and-greet spots with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach offer memorable moments, while themed dining options serve up classic Mushroom Kingdom dishes and unique treats for hungry gamers.

Fly with Dragons in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

The world of How to Train Your Dragon awaits in Isle of Berk, where Viking life and dragon adventures merge. Inspired by the hit films, this realm is set in the island village of Berk, where attractions offer guests the thrill of dragon flight and Viking life.

The main attractions include Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a high-speed aerial ride offering sweeping views of Berk, and Fyre Drill, an exciting dragon race. The Viking Training Camp provides fun games for all ages, letting guests learn what it takes to be a dragon rider, while character meet-and-greets with Hiccup, Astrid, and Toothless bring favorite characters to life.

Dining in Isle of Berk keeps with the Viking theme, featuring Mead Hall, Spit Gyre Grill, and Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel, each serving hearty dishes inspired by the rugged Viking lifestyle.

Venture into the Gothic Dark Universe

Step into the eerie Dark Universe, where classic horror icons become a living, breathing part of the park. Filled with suspense and mystery, this area reimagines legendary Universal Monsters like Frankenstein and The Invisible Man.

Attractions like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Curse of the Werewolf offer thrilling encounters with legendary monsters. For fans of behind-the-scenes movie magic, Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience reveals the secrets behind transforming ordinary actors into terrifying monsters. Live character interactions include encounters with Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, and other infamous creatures of the night.

Dining here reflects the gothic ambiance, with Das Stakehaus, The Burning Blade Tavern, and De Lacey’s Cottage offering everything from kebabs and burgers to unique snacks like twisted taters and cinnamon bread, each with a macabre twist.
